Abstract:

The Core Competency Train the Trainer is provided to give supervisors the fundamental overview of the basic skill set clinicians need to be trained on in order  to have optimal job performance.

Course Objectives:

After completing the training participants will have an understanding of the following:

1) Understanding the Children's Sysem of Care

2) Performing assessments that are strength-based

3) Developing Crisis and Safety Plans

4) Creating a Person Centered Plan

5) Ensuring all goals and objectives are measurable

6) Understanding the importance of incprporating the CAFAS/PECFAS into the treatment plan

7) Incorporating key elements into supervision

8:40 - 9:30 SOC 101 with Shaun Cooper, PhD

9:30 - 10:00 Strength-Based Assessment with Kevin Spizarny, LMSW

10:00 - 10:10 Break

10:10 - 11:20 Crisis & Safety Planning with Marika Orme, LLP

11:20 - 12:10 Family Service Plans with Amreen Khan, LMSW

12:10 - 1:10 LUNCH

1:10 - 2:05 Measurable Goals and Oblectives with Angela Wathel, MA, LPC, NCC

2:05 - 2:15 BREAK

2:15 - 3;15 CAFAS and PECFAS Training with Glenn Momeyer, MS, LBSW

3:15 - 4:00 Incorporating into Supervision  with Marika Orme, LLP

SOCIAL WORKERS: 5 continuing education credits are approved for this training.

- QUALIFIED MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS (QMHP): These  event hours meet the MDCH training requirement for QMHP       staff.

- Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP): These  event hours meet the MDCH training requirement for QIDP staff.

- TRAINING HOURS: This event will count toward the annual training hours required by most provider agencies.

If you work WITHIN Wayne County please dismiss the payment portion of the registration process and hit "submit".

If you work OUTSIDE of Wayne County there is a nominal $15.00 registration fee to attend this training. Please pay prior to your arrival by entering your credit card information when the registration process asks for it. You may also bring a company check or money order for the full amount with you to the registration table at the event as well. All checks/money orders can be made out to ‘DWIHN’. Receipts will be available upon request.


Substitutions are permitted at any time. No Shows will be billed at the same rate. Cancellations must be received in writing no later than 7 business days prior to the training to asmith1@dwihn.org in order to obtain a full refund. If cancellation is received less than 7 days prior to the training, no refund will be issued.
