Abstract:

The ACE Study considers the effects of childhood adversity on population health and wellbeing. This presentation will give individuals the opportunity to learn about adverse childhood experiences and the implications on treatment and recovery. As the ACE Score goes up the risk of many health and social problems goes up. Thus, as the ACE Score goes up in a population, the percent of people with these problems also goes up.

Objectives:

Learn the definition of trauma

Identify examples adverse childhood experiences

Learn potential risks of adverse childhood experiences

Learn methods of coping with adverse childhood experiences

Learn the definition of resilience


Suggested Participants: Parents, Students, Case Managers, Social Workers, Professional Counselors, Addictions Counselors, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Administrator, and Clinical Directors.

Please note: Employees of private practices are not eligible to attend.

-SOCIAL WORKERS:  2 continuing education credits are approved for this training. 
 
-QUALIFIED MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS (QMHP): These event hours meet the MDCH training requirement for QMHP staff. 

-TRAINING HOURSThis event will count toward the annual training hours required by most provider agencies.

If you work WITHIN Wayne County please dismiss the payment portion of the registration process and hit "submit".

If you work OUTSIDE of Wayne County there is a nominal $15.00 registration fee to attend this training. Please pay prior to your arrival by entering your credit card information when the registration process asks for it. You may also bring a company check or money order for the full amount with you to the registration table at the event as well. All checks/money orders can be made out to ‘DWIHN’. Receipts will be available upon request.


Substitutions are permitted at any time. No Shows will be billed at the same rate. Cancellations must be received in writing no later than 7 business days prior to the training to asmith1@dwihn.org in order to obtain a full refund. If cancellation is received less than 7 days prior to the training, no refund will be issued.
