These trainings are recommended by the DHHS for children and youth with a primary Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) diagnosis only. 

If your certification has lapsed, you must take the INITIAL.  

If you do not have this training recorded with VCE, you may be asked to produce the training certificate.

Booster Training

Dates: Monday, July 17, 2017 (Last day to register is JULY 10, 2017)

Time: 8:30am - 5:00pm

Location: The Guidance Center's Center For Excellence, Building 2, at 13111 Allen Rd. Southgate, MI 48195

Cost: $0

Required Materials: PECFAS Paper Assessment Form. Participants should see their supervisor for the required materials. 

Participants that arrive without the required materials will not be permitted to attend the training.

Suggested Participants: QCMHP working with chidren ages 4-6 and CMH billable programs in Wayne County.


Training Information: The Preschool & Early Childhood Functional Assessment Scale (PECFAS) is used for assessing the functioning of children 4-6 years old.  Qualified Child Mental Health practitioner will be required to become reliable raters to implement this tool.


Continuing Education Credits: 4.0 Continuing Education Credits are offered for this event. Participants must arrive on time and remain in the training for its entirety to receive credits. No partial credits will be offered. You must have your license number when you check in. 

  • Counselors: 4.0 Continuing Education credits are approved for this training. The VCE is an NBCC-Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP) and may offer NBCC-approved clock hours for events that meet NBCC requirements. The ACEP solely is responsible for all aspects of the program.
  • Social Workers: 4.0 Continuing Education credits are approved for this training.
  • Children’s Mental Health Professionals (CMHP): These training hours meet the MDHHS training requirement for CMPH staff.

Cancellation Policy: If your schedule has changed and you are no longer able to attend, please un-register yourself from this event through your profile at www.vceonline.org. Registration/Walk-In Policy: Participants may try to attend the training as a walk-in, someone that did not pre-register. However, walk-ins will NOT be guaranteed seats or materials. Walk-ins will be asked to wait until the training begins to be seated to ensure there is enough room. Plan to pre-register to ensure your attendance.
