Cost: There is no cost to attend this training.
Suggested Participants:
Case managers, social workers and counselors.

Purpose of This Training:
This training will provide professionals with the ability to identify integrated Co- occurring Disorders, Treatment Values, Guiding Principles, and Practices. It will provide basic mental health and addictions treatment orientation to Professionals. Participants will further become acquainted with the basic principles of case management and integrated treatment that addresses linking and coordinating consumers with appropriate substance abuse, mental health, and social services found to be effective in working with consumers with CODs.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will be able to:
1. Identify integrated COD treatment values, guiding principles, and practices,
2. Identify methodologies that provide culturally competent treatment to clients with Co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders.
3. Identify useful tools that can be used to link and coordinate appropriate services for those consumers who have Co-occurring Disorders
About the Speaker:
Ms. Tancier V. Baker MA, LLPC has over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. She has a strong passion and commitment to servicing individuals and families in the Metro Detroit Area. She has been employed with the Wayne County Third Circuit Court Clinic for Child Study for the past 15 years. She currently holds the position of Clinical Assessment Specialist for the Juvenile Assessment Unit and has simultaneously been employed for the past 9 years as an Adjunct Professor teaching undergraduate courses for the Human Service and Psychology Departments at Baker College of Auburn Hills, Michigan.
Continuing Education Credits: 5.5 Continuing Education Credits are offered for this training. Participants must arrive on time and remain in the training for it's entirety. You must have your license number when you check in.
- Social Workers: 5.5 Continuing Education Credits are approved for this training.
- Counselors: 5.5 Continuing Education Credits are approved for this training. The VCE is a National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC)-Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP) and may offer NBCC approved clock hours for events that meet NBCC requirements. The ACEP is solely responsible for all aspects of the program.
- Substance Abuse Professionals: 5.5 Non-Specific Continuing Education Credits are approved by MCBAP for substance use professionals, such as Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors (CADC) and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselors (CAADC).
Registration/Walk In Policy: Participants may attempt to attend the training as a walk-in (someone that did not pre-register). However, walk-ins will NOT be guaranteed seats or materials. Walk-ins will be asked to wait until the training begins in order to receive training materials and be seated to ensure there is enough room. Plan to pre-register to ensure your attendance.
