As we continue our efforts to become more “green” we will be reducing printed handouts and moving towards distributing power points and resources electronically. For this and future Children's Mental Health Lecture Series trainings, all handouts will be sent as an attachment in your final e-mail confirmation, prior to the training. If you wish to have hardcopies of handouts, please print out copies as they WILL NOT be provided by DWIHN for this training.
 
Suggested Participants:
 
Professionals who work in Community Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, Juvenile Justice and Substance Abuse systems with children, adolescents and their families in Wayne County, including advocates, case managers, child mental health professionals (psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and supports coordinators), direct care workers, family advocates, family members, licensed professional counselors, nurses, occupational therapists, parents and peer support specialists.
Professional staff within our Community Partners who interact with children, adolescents and their families, who are part of the Community Mental Health System, including Department of Human Services; Hospitals; Law Enforcement; School Personnel, including Detroit Public Schools; and other Social Service Organizations.

• Glossary of terms used in JJ

• Explanation of the 5 Wayne County JJ legal statuses (Pre-Disposition, Probation Level 1, Probation Level 1.5, Probation Level 2, Dual Ward)

• Collaboration between CMH and JJ

• Trends and patterns related to JJ youth’s participation in CMH services

• Question and Answer section

OBJECTIVES

• To help non JJ stakeholders become more familiar with the WC JJ process
• Information sharing between JJ and CMH

-CHILD MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL:These event hours meet the MDCH training requirement for CMHP staff.

-QUALIFIED INTELLECTUAL DISABILLTIES PROFESSIONAL: These event hours meet the MDCH training requirement for QMHP staff.

-MICHIGAN CERTIFIED BOARD OF ADDICITIONS PROFESSIONALS: These event hours meet the MDCH training requirement for MCBAP staff.

-SOCIAL WORKERS: 2 continuing education credits are pending for this training.

-TRAINING HOURS: This event will count toward the annual training hours required by most provider agencies.
