Behavior Technician ABA Training

Behavior Technician Training for Those Who Work with Children with Autism

*Please note that this training is NOT open to anyone to attend and is intended for a specific population.  This population received or will receive a special code in order to register.

Location: The Guidance Center, Center for Excellence building, 13111 Allen Rd., Bldg #2, Southgate, MI 48195

Suggested Participants: Community Living Support Staff and Direct care Staff who serve children who have been diagnosed with Autism; ABA Aides; Behavior Technicians

Learning Objectives:

1. Define ASD, ABA, EIBI, behavior and the dimensions of behavior, reinforcement, punishment and extinction, generalization and maintenance.

2. Discuss possible causes of ASD, how learning occurs, importance of data, reinforcer effectiveness has on behavior, immediacy of reinforcement, how to use reinforcement to decrease behavior, ethical considerations of using behavior reduction procedures and Tome Out Dos and Dont's.

3.  Identify and practice functions of behavior, strategies that help promote generalizaion, family functioning, family resources, cognitive impairment and more.
