Course Description:
In this training, supervisors will learn how to implement Retention Focused Supervision (RFS), a strategy designed to support, develop, and motivate employees to enhance job satisfaction and reduce turnover. Supervisors will explore key aspects such as providing regular feedback, fostering professional development, recognizing achievements, and maintaining clear accountability. They will also learn how to address motivation, work-life balance, and stress management while adapting their supervision approach to meet individual needs. Through engaging activities, supervisors will deepen their understanding of RFS and gain practical tools to create a positive work environment, leading to a more committed, productive workforce and improved organizational retention.
Objectives:
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Understand the basics of adolescent development and how it intersects with substance use.
- Recognize the signs and symptoms of substance use in adolescents.
- Identify evidence-based approaches to screening and early intervention.
- Understand engagement strategies and referral options for youth with SUDs.
- Apply trauma-informed, nonjudgmental approaches to support adolescents and families.
