The focus of the Definitely Different Girl’s Club is to provide girls with a positive youth development framework. We work with participants from a strengths-based perspective and real life experiences. Every young lady involved in our program regardless of their circumstances brings unique perspectives and experiences, all of which are valuable and treated as such. We meet our youth with an approach that is non-demeaning and /or judgmental. This allows them to feel not only comfortable but important and welcomed. We want all of our young ladies to come to us without fear of judgment or criticism. This gives us windows into their lives in a way that enables us to establish long lasting healthy mentoring relationships.
We will meet two Saturdays out of the month in addition to planned events and activities. Each session will have an emphasis on success, responsibility, integrity and education. The youth will interact and network with successful adults who are committed to sharing stories of overcoming obstacles and creating a better life for themselves.
