SUGGESTED PARTICIPANTS:  Wayne County Community Mental Health providers working with children Birth-6 years of age. 

***This training is only open to Infant Mental Health and Early Childhood professionals and requires a special code to register.  Eligible participants will receive a registration code via email.   


DESCRIPTION:

DAY 1:   Infant-Toddler Development for Infant Mental Health Therapists with Kathy Sims, LMSW, IMH-E (IV)

The focus of this workshop will be:  broadening our vision of typical development; building our strategies for recognizing atypical development; how to talk with parents when they are concerned and we are not or when we are concerned and they are not.

DAY 2:  Preschoolers' Development and the Infant Mental Health Therapist with Judy Darling, LMSW, IMH-E (IV)

The focus of this workshop will be:  Expanding our concept of typical development; Building our processes for recognizing atypical development using the ASQ, ASQ-SE and other accepted tools; and how to communicate with parents when there are concerns about development. PLEASE NOTE: Attendance at Day 1 is required for Day 2.

TRAINING INFORMATION

Continuing Education:

Continuing Education Credits: 11.0 Continuing Education Credits are approved for this training. Participants must arrive on time and remain in the training for its entirety to receive credits. You must have your license number with you to check in. 

  • Counselors: 11.0 Continuing Education Credits are approved for this training. The VCE is National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC)-Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP) and may offer NBCC approved clock hours for events that meet NBCC requirements. The ACEP is solely responsible for all aspects of the program.
  • Social Workers: 11.0 Continuing Education Credits are approvedfor this training.
  • Children's Mental Health Professionals (CMHP): These training hours meet the MDHHS training requirement for CMHP staff.
  • Qualified Intellectual Disability Professionals (QIDP):  These training hours meet the MDHHS training requirement for QIDP staff.

There is no fee to attend this training.

REGISTRATION: 
Registration for this event is online ONLY.  Faxes will NOT be accepted.  Participants may attempt to attend the training as a walk-in (someone that did not pre-register). However, walk-ins will NOT be guaranteed seats or materials. Walk-ins will be asked to wait until the training begins in order to receive training materials and be seated to ensure there is enough room. Plan to pre-register to ensure your attendance.
