Environmental Protection Agency Purdue University Grant-Writing Tutorial
This user-friendly program was developed to make it easier for applicants to produce more competitive grant applications. Sections within this website provide information on completing forms and examples of actual grant proposals. Also included is a resource section that lists federal and state sources of grants, as well as a mock grant writing activity.
Foundation Center

Grant Life Cycle

Non-Profit Guides
Non-profit guides are free web-based grant-writing tools for non-profit organizations, charitable, educational, public organizations and other community-minded groups. The guides found here are designed to assist established US-based non-profits through the grant-writing process.
Program of Readability in Science and Medicine
For assistance in writing informed consent documents and other documents is available in the Readability Toolkit from the Program for Readability In Science & Medicine (PRISM). In addition to editing and training services, PRISM offers a toolkit to improve readability of any forms to be given to study participants.

Michigan League for Human Services
The Michigan League for Human Services (MLHS) is a statewide citizens non-profit organization dedicated to education, research and advocacy for the benefit of low income and other vulnerable citizens in the state of Michigan. MLHS collaborates with Michigan's Children to produce annual Kids Count reports, which provides data relevant to each county within Michigan. Some of this data includes income and poverty, parental employment, education and disability.

National Alliance for the Mentally Ill

National Safety Council

President's New Freedom Commission
President George W. Bush established the President's New Freedom Commission on Mental Health in April 2002 as part of his commitment to eliminate inequality for Americans with disabilities. The President directed the Commission to identify policies that could be implemented by Federal, State and local governments to maximize the utility of existing resources, improve coordination of treatments and services and promote successful community integration for adults with a serious mental illness and children with a serious emotional disturbance.
Special Education Law and Advocacy
The Wrights Law website caters to parents, advocates, educators and attorneys by providing up-to-date information about special education law and advocacy for children with disabilities. This site is home to articles, cases, newsletters and resources about dozens of topics such as understanding IEP tests and measurements, legal guidance and advocacy in the Advocacy Libraries and Law Libraries.
The Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law
The Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law is the leading national legal advocate for people with mental disabilities. Through precedent-setting litigation and in the public policy arena, the Bazelon Center works to advance and preserve the rights of people with mental illnesses and developmental disabilities.
The Brookings Institution

The Center for Law and Social Policy
CLASP is an organization whose work is concentrated on family policy and access to civil legal assistance for low-income families. The National Center for Children in Poverty (NCCP) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan research and policy organization at Columbia University. Their mission is to identify and promote strategies that prevent child poverty in the United States and that improve the lives of low-income children and families.
The National Health Law Program (NHLP)
The National Health Law Program is a national public interest law firm that seeks to improve health care for America's working and unemployed poor, minorities, the elderly and people with disabilities. NHLP serves legal services programs, community-based organizations, the private bar, providers and individuals who work to preserve a health care safety net for the millions of uninsured or underinsured low-income people.
The National Low Income Housing Coalition
The National Low Income Housing Coalition is dedicated solely to ending America's affordable housing crisis. While they are concerned about the housing circumstances of all low income people, they focus their advocacy on those with the most serious housing problems, the lowest income households.
The National Mental Health Association
The National Mental Health Association (NMHA) is the country's oldest and largest nonprofit organization addressing all aspects of mental health and mental illness.
