Q: How do I become a member of VCE Online?

A: To become a member, please visit this page: http://www.vceonline.org/registration.asp. This page contains the VCE Membership Form. To become a member you will need to fill this form out as completely as possible. Please make sure that you fill in all fields that are marked with a red asterisk (*), as these fields are required for membership. These required fields are located at the top of the Membership Form.

Q: I am trying to fill out the VCE Membership Form, but every time I submit I receive a pop-up message telling me I forgot to enter my email, my password, my zip code, etc.

A: You are receiving this pop up message because you are trying to submit the Membership Form and have not entered information in all of the required fields (these fields are marked with a red asterisk (*)). Before submitting the form again, please take an extra minute or two to review the entire form and make sure that you have filled in all required fields before resetting.

Q: I am trying to fill out the VCE Membership Form, but every time I submit I receive a popup message telling me I forgot to enter my organization address. I clicked on my organization. What is the problem?

A:When you select an organization from the list, you will see an address or list of addresses for that organization appear in the box below the list of organizations. After you select the name of your organization, you will also need to click on the address for your organization in order to select it and proceed.

Q: I am trying to fill out the VCE Membership Form, but every time I submit I receive a popup message telling me I forgot to enter my secondary organization address. I do not have a second job. What is the problem?

A:If you do not have a second job, then do not select an organization from the list of secondary organizations. If you select an organization from this list, you are telling our system that you have a second job and the system will not allow you to proceed until you select an address for that organization.

Q: What is my VCE user ID?

A: Your user ID is the email address you provided when you registered.

Q: I forgot my password. What do I do?

A: If you can access the email account that you used when you registered with VCE, you can visit this page to have your password emailed to you: http://www.vceonline.org/forgotpassword.asp

Q: I forgot my password and tried having my password emailed to me, but I never received this email. I have a valid and working email account that I can access but still never received this email. What can I do?

A: Before contacting the VCE Help Desk, please check your "Spam" folder in your email program. Many times your computer will think the email that our system sends you with your password reminder is spam, so make sure it's not there before calling. If it has been more than 30 minutes and you have not received your password by email, contact the VCE Help Desk at 1-888-785-7793 and we can help you regain access to your VCE account.

Q: I am trying to take one of your online courses. When the video stops playing, I cannot move on because the "Next" button never appears. What do I do?

A: If the "Next" button never appears when the video finishes playing, it is caused by one of the following:

  • You must be using an approved internet browser to view our courses. Currently, the only two supported internet browsers are Microsoft Internet Explorer and Apple Safari. If you are using anything other than these two browsers (such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome), the courses will not play properly.
  • If you are using a computer that other people also use, or if you have viewed any of our trainings in the past, then you may need to clear out your temporary internet files in order for the "Next" button to appear at the end of the module. To learn how to clean your temporary internet files, please click here.
  • If you are using an approved internet browser and have cleaned out your temporary internet files as explained above, you will need to have your IT department contact our help desk at 1-888-785-7793 so we can verify that they have your network configured properly in order for our courses to play.

Q: I am trying to take one of your online courses. When I play the video, I hear audio but the video is very choppy and stops and starts. What do I do?

A: If you do not see the video but hear the audio, you most likely do not have a fast enough internet connection. Our videos are very large and if your internet connection cannot handle the file size you will experience stuttering and/or choppy video. Unfortunately, the only way to solve this issue is to try taking the course using a different computer on a different network. If you are trying to take the training from work, you may want to try taking the training from the library or from home.

Q: I am trying to take one of your online courses. When I begin the course, I do not see the video. What do I do?

A: You must be using an approved internet browser in order for our courses to play on your machine. At this time, the only approved internet browsers for our courses are Microsoft Internet Explorer and/or Apple Safari. If you use a non-approved browser, such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome, you will likely experience video issues such as this one. Please scroll down to the bottom of this page for a list of approved internet browsers.

Q: I have completed one of your online courses. However, the progress bar does not read 100% complete and I do not see the link to print a certificate. What do I do?

A: If you are using a computer that you have used in the past to view our training courses, or if you are using a computer that you share with other VCE users, then you may experience this issue. In order to solve this issue, you will need to clean your computer of all of its temporary internet files. Click here for instructions on how to clean your temporary internet files.

Q: I have completed an online course and do not see where to print a certificate. How do I print my certificate?

A: To print your certificate, you will want to click on the text in the final screen of the course that states "Click here to print your certificate". This will open your certificate in a separate window.

Q: I've completed my online training, but when I try to print a certificate it is very small and says "Jane Doe" on it. How do I get my own certificate?

A: You need to actually click on the words "Click here to print your certificate" in order to print your certificate.

Q: I have followed the directions to print a certificate, but when I click on the link to open the certificate nothing happens. Help!

A: In order to print your certificate, you will need to make sure that your computer does not have any sort of popup blocking software installed on it. You may need to check with your IT department to verify this. In addition, the certificates are generated in .PDF format, so you will also need to make sure that you have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your machine in order to open, view, and print your certificate. Your IT department should be able to check this for you. You can download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader for free here.
