Training Description

Pain Management is a required competency for all licensed social workers. The overall purpose of this course is to encourage and help participants develop a better understanding of and manage the ethical issues and dilemmas they encounter in practice related to pain management.

-Identify ethical principles present in caring for the pain patient with addictive disease

-Discuss the practical applications of pain management related to ethical dilemmas

-Describe the changes occurring within the pain management field because of the opioid epidemic

-Discuss factors related to the CDC guidelines ​

-Identify components of multi-modal pain management therapies


Suggested Participants: For all Licensed Social Workers, Ethics and Pain Management is required once every 3 years for license renewal. This training offers 2 of the needed 2.0 hours in Pain Management training.

Continuing Education Information

Continuing Education Credits are approved for this training. Participants must arrive on time and stay through the training to receive full Continuing Education Credits. Late arrival or early departures will result in the deduction of awarded credit and proof of attendance. 2.0 Continuing Education Credits are approved for this training (2.0 Pain Management Credits). 

SOCIAL WORKERS: 2.0 continuing education credits are approved for this training. 

 
MCBAP: 2.0 MCBAP hours are approved for this training. This course can be used toward the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) training requirement for MICHIGAN CERITIFICATION BOARD FOR ADDICTION PROFESSIONALS  
 

QMHP: 2.0 QMHP hours are approved for this training. This course can be used toward the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) training requirement for Qualified Mental Health Professionals. 

TRAINING HOURS: 2.0 Training hours are approved for this training. This training will count toward the annual training hours required by most provider agencies
