1. Increase Awareness of Co-Occurring Disorders in Older Adults
Objective: Educate participants on the prevalence, signs, and impact of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders among seniors, including how aging-related changes may mask or mimic these conditions.

2. Promote Holistic and Culturally Responsive Wellness Strategies
Objective: Introduce evidence-based wellness approaches tailored to older adults—such as nutrition, movement, social connection, and cognitive stimulation—that support recovery and resilience in the context of co-occurring disorders.

3. Strengthen Multidisciplinary Care Coordination and Engagement
Objective: Equip participants with tools and strategies for building cross-sector care teams (e.g., behavioral health, primary care, aging services) and effectively engaging older adults and caregivers in person-centered treatment planning.

Registration Fees

If you work WITHIN Wayne County please dismiss the payment portion of the registration process and hit "submit".

If you work OUTSIDE of Wayne County there is a nominal $15.00 registration fee to attend this training. Please pay prior to your arrival by entering your credit card information when the registration process asks for it. You may also bring a company check or money order for the full amount with you to the registration table at the event as well. All checks/money orders can be made out to ‘DWIHN’. Receipts will be available upon request.

Cancellation Refund Policy

Substitutions are permitted at any time. No Shows will be billed at the same rate. Cancellations must be received in writing no later than 7 business days prior to the training to asmith1@dwihn.org in order to obtain a full refund. If cancellation is received less than 7 days prior to the training, no refund will be issued.
